brake pads The best brake pads for you will depend on the type of driving you do. Brake performance varies considerably between street and track driving, as well as between wet and dry conditions. The following is a list of pads which we recommend for these different types of use: For street use we recommend Ferodo DS2500 or EBC Red Stuff, both easily available and inexpensive. These compounds tend to hold up better and last longer than the more aggressive and abrasive hard compounds, but they generally provide lower initial bite and more "squeal." Hard, or ultra-hard compounds are generally used in vehicles with an average drive-time requirement of less than 3 hours per week. These compounds tend to provide the highest levels of stopping power, as well as the shortest life span. They can produce significant brake dust and often squeal under light braking with low pad pressure. Brakes for high performance street use should generally be quite stiff due to the high performance nature of these cars. The brakes should yield good response and feel.
